Product description
This product is supplied as a ready-made 1% aqueous solution. No powder weighing, water measurement, or solution preparation is required. The formulation contains only USP-grade methylene blue and purified water.
Ingredients
Purified water and methylene blue, also known as methylthioninium chloride (USP pharmaceutical grade).
A 1% weight-per-volume solution contains 1 gram of methylene blue per 100 mL. This is equivalent to 10 mg/mL.
Two-ingredient formulation
The solution contains USP-grade methylene blue and purified water. It contains no alcohol, flavourings, sweeteners, or preservatives. Methylene blue gives the solution its blue colour. The solution contains no added colourants.
The solution is dark blue and may appear almost black inside the bottle.
Bottle and packaging
Blupreme’s prepared solution comes in a 100 mL light-protective bottle with a graduated dropper and a tamper-evident seal. The included pipette has markings at 0.25 mL, 0.5 mL, and 1 mL for measuring liquid volume. No separate dropper or solution preparation is required.
Quality testing
The methylene blue ingredient is tested against the full applicable USP–NF monograph specification. Testing covers identity, assay, Azure B and other organic impurities, residual solvents, elemental impurities, residue on ignition, microbial limits, and bacterial endotoxins.
Find the ingredient certificate of analysis for your bottle batch on our Blupreme methylene blue quality testing page.
Manufacturing
The finished 1% solution is manufactured and bottled in Lithuania under GMP standards. The product is supplied in light-protective packaging with a tamper-evident seal.
Storage and handling
Store the bottle upright, protected from light, and below 25 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product if the tamper-evident seal is broken.
Why Blupreme?
Many other sellers of methylene blue test for heavy metals alone and conclude that their product meets USP pharmaceutical-grade requirements. Blupreme tests the ingredient against the full applicable USP–NF specification and additional quality requirements.
Quality control, compared
Heavy-metal screening is one part of quality control. Blupreme tests methylene blue against the broader specification for identity, methylene blue content, purity, and microbiological quality.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the solution appear almost black inside the bottle?
Methylene blue absorbs light strongly. This can make the dark blue solution appear almost black inside the bottle.
What does USP-grade methylene blue mean?
USP–NF is a recognised pharmaceutical quality standard. A supported USP-grade claim requires compliance with all applicable monograph and general requirements, including identity, assay, organic impurities, and other relevant quality controls, not only a heavy-metal screening panel.
Can I review information about Blupreme’s quality testing?
Yes. The Quality Testing page explains the tests performed, the applicable specifications, and what the results demonstrate.
What is a certificate of analysis?
A certificate of analysis, or COA, is a batch-specific laboratory document. It identifies the tested material, batch number, quality specifications, test results, and whether the batch met the stated requirements.
Do you sell to individual customers?
Yes. We sell to both individual customers and businesses.
